lMoles feed predominantly on earthworms but they will also
eat most insects and molluscs. Moles work shifts
a pattern of approx 4 hours working and 4 hours sleeping. When there is
a sufficient supply of food, moles will bite the head off earthworms
store them in a pantry tunnel to snack on later.
lMoles have several layers of tunnels, some shallow short
surface tunnels, and other deeper tunnels used for
breeding and feeding.
Moles do not hibernate but work
throughout all seasons of the year.
